- Late last year the rock school was lucky enough to meet quite literally a rock legend! Original Guns N Roses bass player Duff Mckagan was playing at the O2 Academy in Oxford with his band Loaded and we were not only lucky enough to meet him but he took the time to chat about the rock school and pose with one of our T.Shirts. What a great man!

Alex James Presents Harvest 10th & 11th September 2011

- The Rock School were honored to be invited to the Alex James Festival on 10th & 11th September. We had a marquee for the whole weekend and ran'have a go sessions' for potential young rockers who tried out various instruments! There is a lot of great talent out there. A brilliant time was had by all, and the marquee was packed and rocking all weekend! Also we had a number of our bands performing in there throughout the weekend. In addition to this we were very proud to have our very own metal gods The Reaper and ex rock school band Colour Change for Camouflage play on the main stage. Both bands did themselves proud and ripped up the stage during their sets. Thanks to all the parents who came along to support and help us throughout the weekend! Keep checking back here for more photos and a whole heap of videos from the weekend, but here is sneaky preview of what id to come. The Feelings bass player Richard Jones and wife Sophie Ellis-Bexter came and chilled out in the rock school tent for a while while their son had a bash on the drums!

- Big news for the rock school again regarding Guns N Roses! As if it was not the coolest thing when Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal and Frank Ferrer came along to do the workshop last year and also posed for photos wearing our rock school T.Shirts, now fellow GnR guitarist Mr Richard Fortus has kindly sent us a photos wearing one of our Tees!! Nice one man, what a great guy!!

- Young rocker Alfie Beer from the mighty Weatherwax got to meet Matt Schultz of the brilliant Cage the Elephant at Reading Festival last week and he was kind enough to pose for photos with Alfie with Rock School and Weatherwax T-Shirts! Nice one Matt, and you also got to meet Alfie who will surely be the face of grunge music for years to come!

BREAKING NEWS! The Reaper & Colour Change for Camouflage to play main stage at Alex James Presents Harvest!
- This September see's the launch of a new music festival. It's the brainchild of ex Blur bass player Alex James. He will be launching his new music/food festival - Alex James Presents Harvest on 9th - 12th September at his farm in Kingham! There are 10,000 - 15,000 people expected over the weekend. Acts such as The Feeling & KT Tunstall are confirmed so far. But check this rock school fans!! On Saturday 10th Sep at 11.30am our very own rock school band The Reaper will be opening the festival on the main stage! As if it couldnt get any better than that our other rock school veterans Colour Change for Camouflage will be playing the main stage as well 24 hours later opening Sunday's festivities! - The Witney Music Festival 2011 was a huge success for all concerned and for the WSOR it was another opportunity to showcase a number of our bands. We had a stand alone at Fat Lils on Monday 25th April which was a sell out. All the bands did an amazing job! Check out the brilliant documentary below by Oxbox, thanks to the Oxbox team for doing this! We also had a number of our bands play their own gigs as part of the festival including Weatherwax, TenTwentySix, Colour Change for Camouflage & The Reaper
